For this week we will be talking about a few Holidays celebrated throughout the world. Here are a few we will touch base on. (Not necessarily around this time of year, just for fun and to show the children, that people celebrate different holidays not just Christmas.)
-Day of the Dead. (Nov 1st and second)
-Diwali (Amavasya of Kartik month;(Date varies per Hindu calendar. This year it was Nov 14th an tell Nov 18th.)
-Hanukkah (Dec 10th-18th)
-Kwanzaa (Dec 26th-Jan 1st.)
-Chinese New Year (Feb 12th-Fed 18th).
Holiday Traditions around the world: Kwanzaa (Dec 26th-Jan 1st.)
Group Time: We will watch a small video on Kwanzaa and how people celebrate. We will then discuss what they do during Kwanzaa.
Skills: Shape day. Name writing.
Art: Kwanzaa textile mat.
Large motor: Play with musical instruments and dance.
