Holiday Traditions around the world

For this week we will be talking about a few Holidays celebrated throughout the world. Here are a few we will touch base on. (Not necessarily around this time of year, just for fun and to show the children, that people celebrate different holidays not just Christmas.)
-Day of the Dead. (Nov 1st and second)
-Diwali (Amavasya of Kartik month;(Date varies per Hindu calendar. This year it was Nov 14th an tell Nov 18th.)
-Hanukkah (Dec 10th-18th)
-Kwanzaa (Dec 26th-Jan 1st.)
-Chinese New Year (Feb 12th-Fed 18th).

Holiday Traditions around the world: Hanukkah (Dec 10th-18th)

Group Time: We will read a book on Hanukkah and talk about what we've read. We will talk about how how many days Jewish people celebrate Hanukkah for and what they like to do while celebrating.

Skills: Letters day. Name writing.
