Chinese New Year... l

Group Time: Social and Emotional Development, language and literacy development, Cognitive development (Social systems understanding), creativity, approaches to learning. (Preschoolers and toddlers) While welcoming our preschoolers to daycare, we will be also encouraging the toddlers to sit down with us and participate as well:

Toddler/Preschool: We will start our day with our welcome song..We will write and spell out our names. The next couple of weeks are going to be a little different, this week we will be discussing Celebrations and Holidays.. Today's theme is Chinese new year! We will talk about our Chinese zodiac... We read will read about about Chinese culture, and what they do to celebrate their new year.

Skills: Cognitive, motor development, approaches to learning:

-Preschools: Write down and spell out name

-Toddlers: Spell out name.. Name recognition. 

-Toddlers/preschoolers: Number of the week: 14

-Preschool: Letter of the week: Y, y

-Preschool: Practice zipping, shoe tying, and buttoning buttons. (Main focus)

-Rhyming day..

Creativity and the Arts:

Older friends: Make a dragon out of paper.

Younger friends: Paint cherry blossoms turning them into fans.

Large motor: Gross motor skills are the abilities required in order to control the large muscles of the body for walking, running, sitting, crawling , and other Free activities: (Preschool/toddler)
