Holiday Taditions around the world

For this week we will be talking about a few Holidays celebrated throughout the world. Here are a few we will touch base on. (Not necessarily around this time of year, just for fun and to show the children, that people celebrate different holidays not just Christmas.)
-Day of the Dead. (Nov 1st and second)
-Diwali (Amavasya of Kartik month;(Date varies per Hindu calendar. This year it was Nov 14th an tell Nov 18th.)
-Hanukkah (Dec 10th-18th)
-Kwanzaa (Dec 26th-Jan 1st.)
-Chinese New Year (Feb 12th-Fed 18th).

Holiday Traditions around the world: Day of the Dead. (Starts Nov 1st and lasts two days.)Group Time: We will watch a small video on "Day of the Dead". We will have a discussion on what we learned and what people in Mexico celebrate their loved ones.
Skills: Rhyming day. Name writing.
Art: Paper skulls.
Large motor: Dancing and listing to Hispanic music.
